Reasons why lions roar

- 2. Proclaim their territory – an act they perform every evening to keep other dominant lions away!
- 3. Roaring is utilised by a lion as a strategy to confuse and allow for the effective capture of prey. The lion in all his might creeps up behind unsuspecting prey and in a sudden burst ROARS extremely loud sending shockwaves through the defenceless animal – who in turn is so bewildered and is unable to logically escape leading to its untimely death.
