There is no doubt that ART is the UNIVERSAL language. Yesterday I had the opportunity to give my Captain Color art workshop to about 45 young El Salvadorian art students at the studio/school of Miguel Angel Ramirez founder of the arts school “Casa Taller Encuentros”.
Even though I stumbled my way through with speaking Spanish the children were able to understand the art concepts I was teaching them. I could not have done the presentation without the help of Regina Tia Bubu who helped translate for me.
I must admit I was a little nervous when I started the workshop because my Spanish speaking skills are poor “poquito espanol” at best, but within the first 10 minutes of my presentation I realized the children where “getting” the art concepts I was teaching them and from that point on it was smooth sailing because Art is a language unto its own…
