My girlfriend and me visited Cambodia in December 2012. Before going there we were a bit worried on how to safely get around in such a wonderful country.
We first flew to Siem Reap, where the famous Angkor Wat is located. From there, we wanted to go down to the capital Phnom Penh and then to Kirirom National Park and finally Kampot, a nice village around 200km south of the capital.
From Siem Reap to Phnom Penh we booked a minivan, and, honestly, this was the worst experience we ever done. Too fast, too risky and not safe at all.
After this experience we asked our hotel in Phnom Penh if they could organize a driver for us: this was the turning point of our holiday!
