BRIDGE. Not a “sport” I have previously dabbled in. (Smacks of retired generals and genteel ladies, of which I am definately not). It is a social card game which requires a good memory and certain counting attributes. Well, in my case,this was a good test for early onset of dementia for I can’t remember much, least of all adding up without a calculator. Four persons are required to play this card game and it is preferred that one’s partner is experienced, otherwise you let your opposite “partner” down. How polite everyone was.
Accompanied by cocktails made of local Arrack with small samosa bites post dinner, the evening turned out to be quite a lark.
