Alright time to talk about the cold. It’s cold. Many of you asked me if I was out of my mind coming here because of the frigid winters– I’m starting to think you guys were right. When you walk outside here, everything starts freezing instantly. Any moisture you may have on your clothes or you skin starts crackling as it begins to freeze. Worst is your snot starts to freeze. Then it become really hard to breath through your nose. If you don’t wear a hat, your ears become numb and when walking outside for an extended period of time, it can be hard to talk because your jaw feels like it has locked up. It snowed a week ago and it is expected that it will not thaw until March because it will never get even close to above freezing during that time. See the theme? Freezing? Yes. I…

The first time I’ve been to Shanghai is 12 years ago, when I was ten years old. As a little girl who hadn’t been too many places at that time, I was attracted by this glamorous city.
Shanghai, a city filled with lightings and liveliness, a city brights up the dark night, a city with the most developed things in the world. It is a city make people easily appealed, just like a educated elegant young lady, in fashion; at the same time, it also carries a long story.
Shanghai bristles with skyscrapers, especially at the Bund.
A place called Tian Zi Fangis a good place for petty bourgeoisie lovers.
Every city has a unique place with a special feeling tone, and this place is normally with something artistic, something commercial, something trendy and something free from vulgarity.
An old style in Tian…

This is the most accessible southern pass from Chile to Argentina. Specifically it runs from Osorno, Chile to just before Bariloche, Argentina. There exist passes further south, but they are very weather dependant and many kilometers of cruddy road and some ferries to get there, so with the Kombi I did not want to risk it. In hindsight though, the seven lagoon hop nearby is possible to use as well, but I could never find confirmation this could be done with your own car until I met an Argentinian couple here.
Final paperwork
The day before leaving I had finally received notification my car inscription papers were ready. Actually they were not called that, I had to call Mr. Kombi from the Civil Registration office to get reminded what the heck they were, because the lady at the counter certainly wasnt helpful. When I got the printouts there were a…

The best thing that could have ever happened to me in the desert happened to me on Thursday, the 15th of November. I got to go to a camel farm with some friends, and spend the day petting, kissing, and riding camels! This was a source of constant excitement for me during the week, and by the time Thursday rolled around, I was flipping out with eagerness. My iPhone was charged and ready for pictures, my mind was ready and prepped to have an amazing day, and my hands were shaking at the thought of snuggling and stroking the sweet little camels.
We drove out the the desert, where lots of people choose to ‘camp’. I use camp in quotations because this isn’t the “let’s set up the tent and enjoy some wieners and hot dogs buns around a fire” kind of camping. These guys go all out. Kuwaitis drag…

I visited Croatia at the end of last june with my parents, my brother, our friend family and their cousin. We all were exhausted from the school and work season, and all of us were very exited about the upcoming vacation. Our destination was Dubrovnik and we were ready to go, waiting at the airport but Finnair didn’t have quite the same thought that we had about the schedule and we ended up waiting the plane for almost six hours .
When we finally got there, we all just went straight to the beach without even unpacking our luggage into our rooms. The weather was absolutely something I had never felt before as there was approximately 36-40 celcius degrees hot every single day. So the weather was awesome and our hotel had it’s own beach and was all around great too, we had the best time at the beach and…
